It Starts, Almost

How Many Mondays?

Yes, I know this is not Monday! But since I’ve started so many diets on Mondays that I knew this was the destination title of our blog!
Dieting (or not) does funny things to your sense of time. How easy is it to decide to start a new diet on Monday when it’s only Wednesday? There’s lots of time to prepare for the diet by stocking up on ‘good’ food, lots of fresh vegetable from the farmer’s market, lean meats from the butcher, haul out all the dusty low fat diet cookbooks. Then of course there are the  trips to the local ice cream shop for the ‘last’ cone, a pizza pie, the talking heavenly chocolate cake from the table at Stop and Shop.
Then once the diet gets rolling you’re not only hungry, but bored too; it feels like you’ve gone without pizza and ice-cream for years when it’s only Friday. Yikes, even the minutes of the day seem to drag between meals, as you dream of that delicious carrot in the fridge for your snack.
I am a women who has probably tried at least 25 different diets/food plans/ways of life etc. For sure accountability is one of the most successful methods of encouragement when it comes to maintaining a program for weight loss. I’m  hoping you will join me on this journey to wherever it leads…. Preferably we’ll lose some weight in the process.

  1. May I suggest my nutritionist in Chappaqua-Stephanie Schwartz. She has given me my life back, no crap. I have lost 65 pounds since January 9th. I have found her understanding of how the body works and her enthusiasm to be a huge help. You will have to be willing to leave most sugar behind you, and even though it sounds horrible, after the first week it becomes easy (easier). In many respects my brain has been rewired to not want certain foods and I realize I can live without things. There are new absolutes in my life. I still need will-power but a lot of the time I don't. Very different than anything I have done and you have known me long enough to know that I have fought the fight for a long time, since I was born.

    1. Thanks,David. If I would go to my Dr. He could send me to his colleague a dietician and it would be covered by my health plan. Does your miracle lady take Aetna?

      Besides it's only Tuesday!
